What we do:
We Help. It’s that simple. With whatever the immediate need is.
Sometimes it’s helping with transport of elderly or frail family members to facilitate visits. Sometimes it’s just getting some food to eat, or providing toiletries to family who cannot leave the hospital for extended periods of time. Or paying for parking, facilitating getting some respite, or helping with long distance calling. Small things that are immediate needs, that often cost small amounts but that are sources of stress. We want to be there to relieve the burden any way we can.
We want to facilitate the provision of more advanced family initiatives such as Memory Boxes and ICU diaries- both interventions that are known to substantially impact the psychological burden of a critical illness for both the patients and their family members. We're also aiming to improve the environment of the spaces provided to families to enhance comfort, privacy and warmth, and to improve the communicative ability between family members and treating team members.
